Grenier Avocats law firm will hold a press conference on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Press Club de France on: « Sapin II law: How are companies entering the era of anticorruption? »
One year already…Since the 1st June of 2017, companies with at least 500 employees (or companies belonging to a group of companies whose parent company is headquartered in France and whose workforce includes at least 500 employees) and with revenues in excess of EUR 100 million (consolidated revenues in case of a group) are held to new preventive obligations to fight against corruption and influence-peddling. Under the Sapin II law passed in December 2016 both “large” companies and their managers can be held liable. The French Anti-corruption Agency created by the Sapin II law controls the implementation of the prevention and detection of corruption program and can carry out investigation within companies. In 2017, 8 companies were controlled and nearly 80 are expected to be in 2018.
What is the purpose of Sapin II law? ; At what stage of the implementation of this law are the companies? ; How to effectively assist companies in the implementation of an « anti-corruption program”? ; What are the sanctions that can be imposed in case of non-compliance? … These are all questions that will be addressed by Patrice Grenier during this press conference.
